Recent federal policy changes are restricting access to graduate level education for low-income and marginalized communities. New borrowing limits threaten to shut Boston youth out of professions that require advanced degrees such as healthcare, law, and higher education.

Join OYEA and Leadership Brainery, a Boston-based non-profit specializing in equitable access to advanced education, for a special youth policy seminar on this subject. You'll learn about these changes, potential policy solutions, and practical strategies to use when advising young people about graduate education. Whether you work with young people directly, play a role in youth policy, or are a current or prospective graduate student, this session is for you!

Learn about flood resilience in the here and now with both public and private deployable flood barrier owners. The tour will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Martin's Park, 64 Sleeper St, Boston. Please register with an email you have regular access to, as we will communicating any route updates via email. 

The walking tour will include three main stops: 

1. Martin's Park, 64 Sleeper Street - Explore the City's latest deployable 
2. Atlantic Wharf, 280 Congress Street (building rear, Pearl Street Extension) - Watch Boston Fire conduct a technical rescue drill over a deployable flood barrier with specialized vehicles and equipment in a flood scenario
3. Harbor Towers, 65-85 East India Row - Learn more about a project where residents have come together to pool their funding and expertise to make two 40-story residential towers more resilient to coastal flooding and storm surge.
