Have a bigger home repair project in mind?
If your home needs more extensive repairs, you may qualify for additional funding through other Boston Home Center programs. You don't have to navigate the process alone— your local senior agency representative (see "How to Apply" below) will help you gather documents and prepare your application for the program that makes sense for you.
Who is eligible?
To participate in the Boston Home Center’s Senior Minor Repair program, you must:
- Be 62 years of age or older
- Own and occupy a 1–4 family home in Boston
- Have a household income at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI)
- Be current on property taxes, mortgage, and water bills

Please note that we unfortunately can not cover the cost of home appliance replacements (such as dishwashers, laundry machines, etc.) at this time.
We partner with local senior service providers in order to respond more quickly to home repair requests and provide house calls. Use the list below to determine which agency provides coverage to your neighborhood:

Staff from your local agency will visit your home to assess your needs and arrange the fix. All repairs up to $2,000 are completely free, with most jobs finished in just a few days.
