Boston youth heat resilience workshop

Join the City of Boston's Environment Department for a virtual beat the heat workshop. We want to hear your ideas about climate change and heat resilience in Boston!

Calling all Gen Zs and Millenials! Are you looking for ways to support climate action in your neighborhood? Join the Boston youth heat resilience workshop to support strategies that will prepare our communities for the impacts of extreme heat.

RSVP for the event

  • Learn about extreme heat risks, and discuss the ways neighborhood characteristics can affect heat
  • We also want to hear from you. Share the ways you stay cool in summer when it's hot and your creative ideas to keep Boston cool.

The Climate Ready Boston team is working to protect Boston from the impacts of climate change, like extreme heat. You can take action by sharing your ideas to help inform the solutions. Together our plan will develop solutions to cool the city and keep Bostonians safe.

Today in Boston, we have around 11 days a year where it's more than 90 degrees outside. By 2030, we could have 20 to 40 days above 90 degrees with up to 5 days above 100 degrees. By 2070, we could have anywhere from 25 to 90 days above 90 degrees, with up to 33 days above 100 degrees!

During this meeting we will focus on the hotter spots and cool spots in Boston, talk about the factors that contribute to the conditions, and brainstorm opportunities to reduce extreme heat and build resilience together. Learn more on the project website.
