Parks and Green Space

Some of the fencing has become overgrown with vegetation. The walkways and seating are currently difficult to navigate in a wheelchair. The playing fields have depressions that can be hazardous for players and weeds popping up throughout.

Field improvements at Murphy Playground include:

  • renovations to improve the condition of the grass fields
  • provide new sports lighting (with less light leakage)
  • new pathways and new seating
  • renovated concrete bleachers
  • newly secured perimeter walls
  • repairs to the existing chain link fence and netting.

Special care will be given to preserve and improve the health of the existing trees. The Improvements aim to make the overall park more ADA Accessible.

The construction budget is $2,500,000.

We plan to wrap up general site construction fall 2025, but the athletic fields will remain offline until Spring 2026 while the grass establishes!
