One resident describes the Kite and Bike Festival as, “My favorite day ever in the twenty years I’ve lived in Boston!”

Picture endless blue skies dotted with colorful kites, children and families running and laughing across bright green fields — this event is not to be missed!

This event is hosted by the Franklin Park Coalition. 

The Golf Course Concert Series is part of the Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s ParkARTS program. They are held in July and August. Shows begin at 6 p.m.

Join us in writing & creating a Kindness Tree in honor of Mel King's life & legacy. The community Kindness Tree will be donated to a local school in the South End.

 

Come find us outside at our table with Bigfoot on South Street in Jamaica Plain, as we join with partners and friends for a community celebration. We'll have materials to write and design a "paper medal of magnificence" to give to someone special in your life!

The Urban Wilds Program and neighbors of Roslindale Wetlands welcome families and individuals to join us on a fun and educational walk through the wetlands. We will talk about the importance of wetlands in Boston, how residents worked with the City to protect Roslindale Wetlands, and how we can work together to keep places like this healthy. The walk will last up to one hour and participants should be ready for the possibility of a few muddy and uneven sections of trail. 

These books will be donated to the Boston Public Library. For every 15 books donated, CBCU will purchase a copy of "Girl Running," a children's story of Bobbi Gibb who was the first woman to run the Boston Marathon, and donate it to a local youth running group!

We want to hear from you! Help us identify problem areas along Columbia Road, Mt. Vernon Street, and other corridors approaching the Station, and help us make recommendations for the future of this important transit hub. Staff from the Transportation Department, the MBTA, the Boston Planning and Development Agency, and the Office of Neighborhood Services will be on-hand to answer questions, gather input, and facilitate discussions.

This event is hosted at the Boston Collegiate Charter School Lower School Campus on Sydney Street, a short walk from JFK/UMass Station. Accessible parking is available, and street parking is available after 4 p.m. Food from neighborhood restaurants will be provided, and there will be children's activities.

A kind experience for all! Walk amid 200 pots of daffodils under the iconic trellis. The daffodils symbolize Boston's resilience and rebirth after the tragedy of 2013. We will distribute the daffodils on Monday after the marathon to those who need a smile and a bit of kindness. Stop by the Friends' table for a free kindness bracelet as we honor this special day of remembrance and hope together.

Visit Boston Public Library's North End Branch on One-Boston Day and receive a FREE book from the library Friends Book Sale collection of gently-used books for all ages and all interests. Choose one book per person while supplies last from tables outside if the weather is good and inside if it's raining.
