The Recreation Division is working with the Massachusetts Youth Rugby Organization to provide an introductory drop-in girls rookie rugby program.

Girls ages 8 - 14 will learn the safe, non-contact flag version of rugby. We will have a variety of women coaches from local colleges and teams to provide skill building drills. The program occurs over three Sundays at the new Carter Playground Bubble, an inflatable dome over one of the athletic fields that allows for year-round sports and recreation. Join us for all or one of the following three dates in March:

  • March 15
  • March 22
  • March 29

Rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in the country. There are girls varsity rugby teams in five Massachusetts high schools and women's rugby teams in colleges across the country. New sport, new experiences and new opportunities.

The Greenovate Boston Leaders Program aims to increase understanding of the climate impacts in Boston and the actions required to mitigate the impacts. We want to involve Bostonians as part of the collective action needed in advancing citywide initiatives. Our program gives you the materials and support you need to lead conversations about climate change and climate action. This program is a great opportunity to network with a wide variety of leaders, learn how to format community discussions around climate change, and to make a positive impact on Boston.

RSVP for a Training

The training dates are Monday, March 23 (Roxbury), Thursday, March 26 (Dorchester), and Saturday, March 28 (Jamaica Plain). Choose the date and location that works best for you.
