YPN-ULEM 7th Annual Leadership Development Conference
The conference provides opportunities for young professionals to enhance their personal and professional development skills.
The Diversity Recruitment Officer of the Boston Police Department will join the Young Professional Network at their annual leadership conference and host a session: A Seat at the Table, Finding a Voice in Today's Criminal Justice System. This session will discuss the importance of having a seat at the table when it comes to creating policies, policing the community, the judicial system and much more.
In 2011, YPN-ULEM established an Annual Leadership Development Conference (LDC) to provide opportunities for young professionals to enhance their personal and professional development skills in order to advance in leadership and their career paths. The conference is designed to address issues related to educational, personal and professional development. Additionally, this conference serves as a program for the National Urban League Young Professionals Day of Empowerment, a nationwide service activity held in conjunction with the National Urban League Guild.
Yawkey Club's Life After the Club Fair
The Boston Police Department's Diversity Recruitment Office looks forward to sharing at the Yawkey Club's Life After the Club Fair.
This event is designed to create opportunities for the club's teen members to network with a variety of professionals and explore a multitude of postsecondary opportunities.
2019 Enchanted Trolley Tour: Day 3
Boston continues the festive tradition of lighting holiday trees in Charlestown, Chinatown, Dorchester, East Boston, the North End, and South Boston.
For the 24th year, the Mayor's Enchanted Trolley Tour will continue the festive tradition of lighting holiday trees while bringing holiday spirit to children across Boston. The event is sponsored by Bank of America, and includes visits with Santa, holiday performances, tree lightings and more.
On the third day of the 2019 Mayor’s Enchanted Trolley Tour, the trolley will be stopping at the following locations:
- 1 p.m. - M Street Park, South Boston
- 2 p.m. - Essex Street / Harrison Avenue, Chinatown
- 3 p.m. - Paul Revere Mall, North End
- 3:45 p.m. - Thompson Square, Charlestown
- 4:45 p.m. - Maverick Square, East Boston
- 6:30 p.m. - Adams Village, Dorchester

Police employment information session
The Boston Police Department event offers information on how to become a police officer and navigate the hiring process.
At the event, the Boston Police Department Diversity Recruitment Officer will cover:
- the hiring process
- selection, and
- timeline to become a police offer for the City of Boston.
If you took the police exam in 2017, or you are considering the exam in 2019, this session will give you clear, concise information to begin planning a career in law enforcement.
Love Your Block grant writing workshop
This workshop is meant to help residents interested in filling out an application to receive a Love Your Block mini-grant.
During the workshop, we'll go over the entire application, including all requirements. Feel free to ask questions and participate — this will be an intimate setting.
We'll make applications available during the workshop. You can also find them on the Love Your Block website. We accept applications from November 4, 2017 through January 8, 2018.
