Melnea Cass Boulevard Streets cleanup

Help us beautify Roxbury's Melnea Cass Boulevard.

August 17, 2019
Event Date2019-08-17T09:00:00 - 2019-08-17T11:00:00

The City of Boston's Environment Department and Public Works Department are organizing a cleanup along Melnea Cass Boulevard of Roxbury. The focus of the streets cleanup is to beautify and remove trash from Boston's urbanized areas. A major component of the cleanup will be picking up and disposing of trash in the surrounding area. Volunteers will meet at the intersection of Melnea Cass Boulevard and Tremont Street.

The cleanup will take place on:

Saturday, August 17, from 9 - 11 a.m.
Intersection of Melnea Cass Boulevard and Tremont Street

Sign up for the cleanup

Materials distributed will include trash bags and gloves to remove trash. The group will travel along Melnea Cass Boulevard and conclude the cleanup near Massachusetts Avenue. Please remember to bring:

  1. Water
  2. Hat
  3. Sunglasses
  4. Close-toed shoes
  5. Bug Spray
  6. Pants or sweatpants
  7. Gloves, if you have them

This cleanup will spark the conversation of where our waste ends up and how it impacts public health. Volunteers will assist the City in posing these questions and moving us closer closer to our goal of being a zero waste city.
