Civic Power Pledge

Be a leader in your community. Check out our list of civic activities and sign the Civic Power Pledge to get started!

Civic engagement can take many forms, including:

  • voting on election day
  • weighing in at a local neighborhood meeting
  • volunteering in your community, or
  • hosting a neighborhood gathering.

Being engaged means having a stake in what happens in your neighborhood and working together to make improvements.

The Civic Power Pledge encourages residents and businesses to embrace their civic power and engage with their local government. We want to build a sense of community, address shared concerns, and improve the quality of life for all Bostonians.

  • Visit one of Boston’s urban wilds
  • Get connected with your local civic group or neighborhood association.
  • Say hello to a new neighbor.
  • Plan or attend a community event.
  • Participate in the newly launched Find Your Food Pantry campaign.
  • Create your own civic engagement action item.
  • Partner with a community organization in your neighborhood.
  • Host a community night at your business.
  • Have a space to promote community events inside your business.
  • Come up with your own civic engagement action item.
