Gayana was born and raised in Delmas, Haiti. She moved to the United States in 2016 due to social and political instability. She earned her associate degree in criminal justice at Bunker Hill Community College and is currently pursuing her bachelor degree in criminal justice at Boston College. Prior to joining LCA as a community outreach coordinator, she was an intern at the State House for Representative Nika Elugardo, and was assigned to assist with criminal justice reform.
Gayana holds a passion for education, equity, and justice. She thinks the City of Boston is very inclusive and welcoming towards immigrants. She is proud to be part of the citywide effort to provide access to people with disabilities and people who speak a language other than English.
