Located in Downtown Boston and offering services throughout the region, NECHV supports Veterans with innovative services that enable success, meaningful employment, and dignified independent living. Clothing can include underwear (highest need!), coats, shoes and boots, sweatpants, jeans, work clothes, sweatshirts, t-shirts, thermal long sleeves, hats, gloves, and scarves in a variety of sizes (no socks!). Toiletries can include toothbrush and full size toothpaste, hair brushes, full size soaps and shampoos, feminine care items, and razors or shaving kits. 

These books will be donated to the Boston Public Library. For every 15 books donated, CBCU will purchase a copy of "Girl Running," a children's story of Bobbi Gibb who was the first woman to run the Boston Marathon, and donate it to a local youth running group!

Patrons are encouraged to bring unopened spices and dried herbs to their local participating branch. With the help of the Greater Boston Food Bank, these donations will be distributed to families and individuals across Boston and Eastern Massachusetts. Varied combinations of spices are what differentiate cultural cuisines; donating spices helps people maintain their cultural identity and family traditions, encourages creative and nutritious cooking, and celebrates the abundant cultural makeup of our region.

Residents of Belnel Family Neighborhood Associations will be participating in a neighborhood-wide cleanup including areas in our neighborhood close to the Neponset River. This will be our neighborhood 6th year completing a neighborhood-wide cleanup which we host in April and September, yearly.

During the run of Sister Act (April 7 - May 14), we will be collecting personal hygiene items for our friends who reside at 140 Clarendon St. as part of the affordable housing units supported by Beacon Communities.



We will be accepting items such as:

Mayor Wu and the City of Boston invite community-based organizations and businesses to light up their buildings blue and yellow in honor of One Boston Day from the evening of Friday, April 14 through the evening of Monday, April 17.

A kind experience for all! Walk amid 200 pots of daffodils under the iconic trellis. The daffodils symbolize Boston's resilience and rebirth after the tragedy of 2013. We will distribute the daffodils on Monday after the marathon to those who need a smile and a bit of kindness. Stop by the Friends' table for a free kindness bracelet as we honor this special day of remembrance and hope together.

We will begin street cleaning at Buttonwood St. and we will make our way toward Savin Hill Ave. We then plan to make our way over at McConnell Park in Dorchester and finish with a cleanup at that location.

This will be a shared corporate (with John Hancock Investments) and community event (with Columbia Savin Hill Civic Association) that will bring community members together with residents to beautify and make a small area of a larger Dorchester shine. This will be an opportunity to allow neighbors who may need assistance with some yard cleanup to submit their address to Columbia Savin Hill Civic Association and have volunteers assist residents.
