Homeowner services

The Boston Home Center provides a variety of assistance — from loans to technical advice — to homeowners who need to make repairs to their homes.

Through our HomeWorks Home Equity Loan Program, we offer loans to help homeowners with home repair costs. We also offer loans of up to $30,000 to help with home repair costs on triple-decker homes in Boston. The interest free loans cover many repairs to the inside and outside of your home.

In the Senior Home Repair Program, The Boston Home Center works with several neighborhood agencies that will assist seniors with applying for minor to larger repairs for your home.  We offer zero percent-interest (0%), deferred loans for older homeowners. Our Seniors Save Program helps seniors replace failing heating systems to ensure they are ready for the winter to come.

Our lead abatement program offers you financial help to get rid of lead-based paint in your home. We offer:

  • forgivable loans of up to $10,000 for each unit in your home
  • technical advice from City lead specialists, and
  • help complying with state lead laws so you can get lead removal tax credits.

If you have questions about these programs or any other services the Boston Home Center offers, please call us at 617-635-HOME (4663).
