Age Strong Memory Cafe - West Roxbury

Memory cafés meet at a variety of places, including coffeehouses, museums, or community organizations. Each memory café is different. Some cafés invite guest artists, some offer education about memory changes. And some are just for relaxing and chatting. But, all cafés share one goal — to help guests feel comfortable and to know that they are not alone. Cafés are a place to talk with others who understand what you are going through. You can forget about your limitations and instead focus on your strengths.

West Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library

1961 Centre Street, West Roxbury

Meets the second Friday of every month, from 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Ways of My Ancestors Flyer

Launching in Fall 2025 at Quincy Market, Ways of My Ancestors - Imagery: Lighting the Path to Awareness is a Native American photography series by Hassanamisco Nipmuc Artist Scott Strong Hawk Foster. He will display images that document the contemporary presence of the descendants of the Indigenous inhabitants of Southern New England and the ways in which they preserve their culture and heritage today.

With five two-sided portraits at each end of Quincy Market, Scott Strong Hawk Foster's portraits will greet people as they pass by, enter, and leave the building.

Please join us for an opening reception of Ways of My Ancestors - Imagery: Lighting the Path to Awareness with spoken words by the artist and other members of the Native American community on Wednesday November 19, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. at the west end between historic Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. Light refreshments will be provided.

Funded by the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture through a grant from the Mellon Foundation, Ways of My Ancestors - Imagery: Lighting the Path to Awareness is presented in partnership with Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Graffito SP, the Office of Historic Preservation, and the City of Boston Planning Department.
