Affidavits

We mailed out the 2025 Biennial Affidavits on August 15, 2025. The Boston Retirement System shall withhold your benefits for the month of January 2026 should you fail to file this affidavit by 12/12/2025.

Please note:
  • You only need the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number on the SSN line.
  • Your signature on the affidavit MUST be notarized to be accepted.
  • If you have a Power of Attorney (POA), POA papers must be on file at the Retirement Board or MUST accompany the signed affidavit.
  • If you do not receive an affidavit, you may request a duplicate after September 1, 2025.
  • Affidavit update: We have mailed more than 14,600 affidavits, and we have processed all the affidavits we have received. We notified members by email or mail once we processed your affidavit. If you did not submit your affidavit yet, please do so by December 12, 2025 to avoid interruption to your benefit.

MONTHLY PENSIONS:
Monthly pension checks will be mailed on the last Tuesday of the month. Funds for recipients who elected direct deposit will be deposited to accounts on the last Tuesday of the month.

When and where

The Boston Retirement Board holds its monthly meetings on either the third or fourth Wednesday of the month.

Our meetings start at 9:00 a.m. The meetings take place in Room 816 of Boston City Hall unless otherwise noted. Please note that during the construction phase meetings will be taking place in different locations. Please refer to upcoming meetings section in our website to see the meeting's location.
