Dubbed “La reina del timbal” (the Queen of timbales) in Puerto Rico, Zayra Pola’s rhythmic beats and melodious voice puts a spell over the audience, so you won’t be able to resist dancing for her entire performance! A Berklee College graduate, Pola has performed with musical legends such as Gilberto Santa Rosa, Cheo Feliciano, Grammy-winner Eguie Castrillo, and Grammy-winner Bill Whelan.

A well-known timbalero across the Massachusetts festival scene, Eric Germán and his 12-piece orchestra bring audiences to their feet with their high energy and swinging Salsa music. A prodigious musician, Germán has been performing since age 10 with renowned artists such as Cheo Feliciano, Andy Montañez, Ismael Miranda, and Tony Vega. In 2017, he’s slated to release his debut solo album.

Celebration of Summer IV pays tribute to Boston-born disco legend Donna Summer!

Our 4th annual roller disco party will feature:

• a performance by Mary Gaines Bernard
• music provided by New England's Finest DJ Roy Barboza, and
• appearances by O'Mega Red and members of Donna Summer's family

Try out your roller disco moves on the skating rink! If you don’t have your own skates, the City of Boston will be providing free rentals on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Music ranges from jazz and folk music from numerous ethnicities to classical to contemporary. music from medieval times to the present. Admission is by suggested donation of $3. All proceeds are given to the performers. The event is sponsored by King's Chapel.

Join a rousing chorus of sea chanteys at the USS Constitution Museum. This event takes place on the third Sunday of May and every month.

This event is family friendly, and everyone is invited! Donations are also welcome.

The Wake Up the Earth Festival began in 1979 when a group of local neighbors and activists banded together to stop the Interstate 95 expansion into Jamaica Plain. The festival began as, and still is, a celebration of what can be accomplished when people of all traditions, cultures, ages, and beliefs come together.
The annual Wake Up the Earth Festival (WUTE) takes place each year on the first Saturday in May and is currently attended by well over 10,000 individuals of all ages. The event features four stages that include:

• music and dance performances
• popular theater
• the Youth Stage, and
• story telling for all ages.

In addition to performances, WUTE features over more than 50 craft, non-profit, and food vendors. The festival is anchored by a massive parade (with branches that start in JP Center and Roxbury) with several thousand people marching. A great many individuals, local artists, community groups, and schools join forces every year to create this unique community collaboration.

This concert is designed to help ease the pain in our hearts, to remember the love of those who have been killed, and give hope for a future without violence. The Riverview Chamber Players concert is free with a $10 suggested donation. The ArtWeek event is presented in a pending Landmark.

Anchored by New England’s first custom-designed Skating Path and a Holiday Shopping Market, "Boston Winter" is part of Mayor Walsh’s commitment to creating a City Hall that is both vibrant and welcoming to all. It's open seven days a week.

The nearly 11,000 square foot outdoor ice Skating Path will remain open through February, offering learn-to-skate programs and many special events. The Holiday Shopping Market will run through New Year’s Eve (December 31, 2016) and include unique attractions and over 40 chalets with boutique style shops offering a wide array of gifts and food. Park yourself right here – we have a little something to keep everyone busy this winter.

Hours of Operation

The Holiday Market will be open:

• Monday – Thursday, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
• Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
• Sunday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

A special children’s celebration will be held on Saturday, November 29, at 5 p.m. at the Smith Family Waterfront in the Seaport District and Fort Point neighborhood when the Friends of Martin’s Park and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department host the fourth annual holiday lighting of the ship in Martin’s Park. Additional support provided by Nan Fung Life Sciences Real Estate, Caffe Nero and HP Hood.

Martin’s Park will be transformed into a beautiful holiday display when the ship, surrounding beach fencing, and pedestrian bridge are illuminated with over 1,500 feet of blue and white tube lights. 

Other festive attractions include: 

• Santa will arrive by boat with the Boston Police Harbor Unit at the Harborwalk
• Entertainment will be provided by Berklee School of Music artists Sofia Sunshine, duo Skye & Jo and singer/songwriter Mia McIntosh performing a selection of holiday classics
• Holiday beverages provided by Hood and Caffe Nero
• Meet the Boston Park Rangers Mounted Unit and explore the Boston Fire Department's Touch Truck
• Holiday arts and crafts lead by a local artist
