Join us for a rescheduled, virtual-only screening of "Bounty".
Originally scheduled to be in observance of National Native American Heritage Month, this rescheduled virtual-only screening of "Bounty" — part of Upstander Project's "Dawnland" series — reveals the hidden story of the Phips Proclamation, one of many scalp-bounty proclamations used to exterminate Native people in order to take their land in what is now New England. In the film, Penobscot parents and children resist erasure and commemorate survival by reading and reacting to the government-issued Phips Proclamation’s call for colonial settlers to hunt, scalp, and murder Penobscot people. Following the film screening, there will be a discussion with co-directors Adam Mazo, Dawn Neptune Adams, and Maulian Dana.

Join us for a virtual panel discussion about MLK’s legacy with Boston's civic leaders.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. lived a life dedicated to social justice, equity, service, and community. Under the leadership of Mayor Michelle Wu, the City recently announced two new offices committed to service: The Office of Civic Organizing and the Office of Black Male Advancement.
The Mayor’s Office of Civic Organizing is committed to collaborative partnerships and programs which encourage proactive community engagement, awareness, and service in our neighborhoods.
The Office of Black Male Advancement works to empower Black men and boys to ensure they have equitable access to opportunities in the City. As part of their work, they focus on policies, programs, resources, and local and national partnerships.
The Office of Civic Organizing and The Office of Black Male Advancement invites you to join a virtual panel discussion in honor of MLK’s legacy and to uplift the power of being civically engaged. This event will be a safe space to also discuss the ongoing work required to address social justice and equity in our city.
**This is a virtual discussion, a Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants prior to the event.**
