The Task Force was charged with reviewing the Boston Police Department’s (BPD) current policies and procedures and then presenting to Mayor Walsh and to the public recommendations for reform. The Task Force focused on four main areas of review:

1. Use of Force policies
2. Implicit Bias Training
3. the Body Worn Camera Program, and
4. Strengthening the Community Ombudsman Oversight Panel (COOP) board.

Feedback from this session will guide the Task Force on their final recommendations on changes to BPD policies and procedures.

On Saturday, September 19, Love Your Block and Four Corners Main Streets will host a neighborhood cleanup from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.. We will be meeting at 10 Harvard Avenue in Dorchester. Masks are required for participation and tools will be available.

Juneteenth 2020 coincides with a pandemic within a pandemic: the challenge of COVID-19 and America’s reckoning with its history of racism. Black Lives Matter.

Beyond the renewal of an iconic monument, we partners seek to educate, inform, and convene community conversations and special programs exploring history, race, and social justice. We hope these dialogues will lead to greater understanding — and ultimately social change which is long overdue.

 The Boston Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with the Franklin Park Coalition present the 2026 Winter Festival at Franklin Park on Saturday, February 21st, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visit boston.gov/winterfest for more information about this family-friendly school vacation week event.  The event is hosted in partnership with title sponsor Highland Street Foundation and contributing sponsors H.P. The free festival is open to all and offers music, giveaways, winter activities, treats, games and crafts. Featured attractions include a synthetic ice skating rink, snowman igloo bounce house and obstacle course.  Try your musical skills at Boston Music Group’s instrument ‘petting zoo.’  Enjoy the New England Revolution interactive soccer exhibit.  Meet the horses of the Boston Park Rangers Mounted Unit and learn about their important role in our parks.
