BCYF Lifeguard Institute 2018
Are you 16 to 18 years old and still in high school? We have a great opportunity for you – the BCYF Lifeguard Institute!
Over April school vacation week, the Lifeguard Institute will be offered at BCYF pools across Boston.
The requirements to participate include the ability to pass a swim test requiring swimming 300 yards continuously using different strokes, treading water, and a surface dive exercise. In addition, participants must be 16 to 18 year old high school students. Upon completion of the Institute, a $35 fee for Red Cross Certification will apply.

Swim for Safety - April Vacation 2018
Youth ages 4-12 can learn to swim for free at a Boston Centers for Youth & Families pool.
We are hosting free beginner swim lessons, “Swim for Safety,” for Boston youth ages 4-12 at BCYF pools over April school vacation week.
BCYF Swim for Safety helps participants become safe and confident around water and eager to continue to participate in aquatics programs. Locations and schedules are listed below. Please contact the pool directly for more information and to register.

In accordance with the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, M.G.L. Chapter 131, Section 40, the Boston Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing in Boston City Hall, Piemonte Room, at 6:00 p.m. on April 4, 2018 to review the following projects to determine what conditions, if any, the Commission will impose in order to protect the interests of the public and private water supply, ground water, prevention of pollution, flood control, prevention of storm damage, protection of fisheries and land containing shellfish, and protection of wildlife habitat.
